Looking for help with your essay? Need an extra set of eyes on your paper or report? Want to send out a particularly snazzy email? Come to the IHS Writing Center! You’ll get help from an English teacher to take your writing to the next level. The Writing Center operates after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays in the school library.
Attention all girls soccer players, these week, try outs for Girls Soccer will be extended. These try outs are mandatory, so if you are interested in playing for the Girls soccer program at Independence, you must be there! They will be from 3:30 PM – 5 PM TODAY. Make sure you have your physical and it has been cleared on AthleticClearance.com. If you have any questions, please go to D-408 and talk to Ms. Kimball or to B-402 and talk to Ms. Carson. Hey Juniors, San Jose State University will be holding its “Getting College Ready” workshop today during 7th period in the D Commons. If you’re interested in learning more about CSUs and getting ready for college, be sure to attend! Again, that’s today, 7th period in the D Commons.
Key Club will be having a meeting today, during lunch in A-Commons! Join us to learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities our club has to offer! See you there! Also, be sure to turn in your TOT Boxes TODAY! And, as part of a collaboration with Interact, Interkey will be having a Tisane fundraiser next Tuesday, the day before break! Drinks include Blush, Golden, and RPM for $5. The same day we will be hosting our movie night! Grab a ticket soon and we hope to see you next Tuesday.
Good morning Sixers, another quick announcement from IHS’ APES class: our climate smart competition is coming to an end this Wednesday and we want you to join us for a blackout day! Again, please wear black this Wednesday in support of our competition. Join us Wednesday during lunch where we will be giving out custom pins and t-shirts! Thank you and we hope to see you there! AND just a friendly reminder from the environmental Class to save power by using LEDs. Fun fact, bugs are more attracted to regular lights compared to LEDs. Unplug the plug Sixers!
